Official rules of Italian billiards
The game of Italian billiards usually groups together a series of specialties of the game of billiards that originated in Italy and that have subsequently spread to different parts of the world. All the disciplines of Italian billiards are practiced on a pool table without holes, also called international table from carambola. For the different specialties of Italian billiards, a minimum of three to a maximum of nine colored balls are used, all of the same diameter. Depending on the variants, five or nine small pins are also used, white in color, and only one red in color.
In all specialties of Italian billiards the aim of the game is to reach the number of points set for each game (or more games in case you decide to play more rounds). The basic rules are that during the game each player performs an alternating shot. At the center of the billiard table are placed pins, forming a cross (the pin in the center is red, while the others are white). Players pull once to head: the goal is to hit with your ball the opponent. Each time the shot hits, the player scores points (2 points if you shoot down the white pins, 5 points if you shoot down the red pin, and 4 points if you hit both).
